Kathon FP 1.5 is the number one Jet Fuel biocide widely approved for use in Military and Civil aviation fuels. The unique combination of benefits offered by kathon FP 1.5 has established this as the leading microbiocide for fuel preservation.

	Fuel haziness often occurs from the production of biosurfactants by organisms causing an increase in the solubility of water in the fuel. Kathon FP 1.5 is not surface active which means it will encourage rather than inhibit water seperation as well as inhibiting microbial growth.
It is permitted for use at 100ppm by many aircraft and aircraft engine makers in curative and casual treatment. Kathon FP 1.5 causes immediate inhibition of growth on coming into contact with a microrganism. Growth inhibition rapidly becomes irreversible and results in cell death. This ensures rapid eradication of contamination in 8 to 12 hours.

Kathon FP 1.5 is a broad spectrum biocide that is effective against all commonly occurring aviation fuel contaminants (bacteria, fungi and yeasts). Fuel treated with Kathon FP 1.5 will remain protected from contamination over long periods of time. It will also resist contamination if re-innoculated from another source. Studies over an 8 week period show that no competitive product evaluated could match this performance.
